Huge Park Pass Reservation Changes Begin TODAY!

Huge Park Pass Reservation Changes Begin TODAY!

Raise your hand if you love the Park Pass Reservation System. Now, raise your hand if you dislike the Park Pass Reservation System. Since the inception of park passes, guests have been hugely divided. You are either Team Hate or Team Love…. there is no in-between. In case you were wondering just which side of the aisle I’m on ….. I am not a fan.

I could fall down the rabbit hole of explaining all that is the park pass system, but I think by now, everyone has a good grasp on the in’s and out of what it is and why it was created.

As a short recap though, for those that might not be aware, a park pass reservation (in addition to a valid ticket) is required to enter any of the 4 theme parks. You will NOT be permitted into a park unless you have both valid admission (ie: park ticket) and hold a park pass reservation for any given day.

The Why

The reservation system started out of necessity, back in 2020 as a way to control park capacity. As the pandemic carried on Disney took another look and decided it should stick around for the foreseeable future.

Since the beginning, the reservation system has largely remained the same with guests having to check a calendar to see if there is availability for select parks on select days.

Along the way, Disney adjusted the calendar to break out different ticket types such as annual passholders, ticket only guests and those booked as a package. This created a bit of confusion, and I am excited to say, Disney listened to guest feedback and took action.

What’s New

Beginning today, August 23, 2022, the park pass reservation calendar will be streamlined into one. No more separate calendars for each different ticket type. In addition to that bit of good news, comes the BIGGEST adjustment to the system yet! What’s that you ask? Let’s continue to find out….

The Best News Yet

For the final curtain call on the saga that is the park pass reservation system, guests will now be able to MODIFY their park passes instead of having to cancel and rebook. This is a huge step in the right direction and I’m kicking up my heels in excitement. Gone are the days of having to check the calendar before dropping and re-adding. The limit for scheduled passes is also being raised from 12 to 30 for those who visit multiple times a year or those traveling with large groups!

What say you on the changes today? Yay or Nay? Are you Team Hate or Team Love? We’d love to hear what you think. Let us know in the comments below OR visit our Facebook Community at Destination DizN & Beyond.
