Fan Favorite Will Return to Magic Kingdom in 2023

I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying!

Happily Ever After is making a comeback!

Well, Sort of, let me explain.

We saw Disney Parks and Entertainment news pouring out of the D23 Expo this past weekend and it did not disappoint. Some announcements we already knew but others were a pleasant surprise.

The Story Will Come Alive Once Again

As I mentioned there were a plethora of announcements but the one that pulled on my heart strings the most was the mention of the nighttime fireworks show, Happily Ever After. Josh D’Amaro, the Chairman of Disney Parks, announced that this beloved show will make a reimagined debut in 2023.

For those of you not familiar, Happily Ever After was a nighttime fireworks show that replaced another crowd favorite, Wishes, back in 2017. Happily Ever After made its debut in May of 2012 and the shows soundtrack quickly became every Disney Adults life anthem. This nighttime spectacular was the show of all shows and was a can’t miss experience at the Magic Kingdom.

Sadly, Happily Ever After saw its last show on September 29, 2021. Have a watch below if your heart can handle it!

Happily Ever After was replaced by Disney’s Enchantment which made its debut on October 1, 2021 with the start of the 50th Anniversary Celebration. At the time, it was thought that Disney’s Enchantment was going to be a permanent addition to the nightly Magic Kingdom experience but over time we have learned that is not the case.

“The Most Magical Celebration on Earth” will end on March 31, 2023, completing an 18-month celebration of all that we know as Disney Magic. The current nighttime show is rumored to end with the completion of the 50th Celebration as well. So, time will tell.

When Can We “Watch the Moment Unfold.”

(Go ahead, belt it out! You know you want to!)

Exact details as to when we can expect a return haven’t been released yet but we do know that the show will not return in its original form, but the music will! Happily Ever After will be reimagined and reworked to create an even better experience for Disney Park guests.

I am so excited to see what Disney brings to the table with this announcement. Happily Ever After was my favorite Magic Kingdom show and I am excited to see what the future holds. Don’t let me down Disney!

What do you think of the news? Are you a fan of Happily Ever After?
