This January, The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th birthday!
To honor this milestone, Disney parks around the globe will host celebrations in the largest cross-company global celebration in Disney history. At the heart of the celebration, is Disneyland Resort, with special limited time offerings for all attendees.
The party kicks off on January 27, 2023 with many new and exciting things coming to the park, including two new nighttime spectaculars, the grand opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the return of the fan-favorite “Magic Happens Parade”, and much more!

The Party of the Century
The Happiest Place on Earth will see all new decorations around the park, with Sleeping Beauty Castle being beautifully decorated by the Three Good Fairies, who can be seen sprinkling the castle with shimmering pixie dust. Platinum and blue iridescent banners and bunting will be accompanied by a wishing star on the top of the castle, and fountains on either side. Mickey and Minnie will also wear new platinum and blue outfits in celebration of the company.
New merchandise will also be available for guests looking for a little extra fun, such as a Mickey popcorn bucket that matches his centennial outfit, and a blue and platinum spirit jersey.
Toontown to Reopen With Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Good news Toontown Fans! The newly reimagined Toontown will be opening in the spring of 2023 and will include all new interactive play areas for children and families. Also located in Toontown, is Mickey & Mickey’s Runaway Railway which will have its west coast grand opening along with the beginning of the Disney 100 celebration in January.

Brand New Nighttime Spectaculars!
Two brand new nighttime spectaculars will also debut in January! “World of Color- One”, at Disney’s California Adventure, and “Wondrous Journeys”, at Disneyland.
“World of Color-One” highlights Walt Disney’s legacy of storytelling and tells the story of how small actions, like a drop of water, grow and create waves of change. The show, which features incredible water effects, will also be accompanied by a new song called “Start A Wave”.

At Disneyland, “Wondrous Journeys” takes guests on a journey of art, music, storytelling, and heart as Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street USA, and the Rivers of America turn into an artist’s canvas, bringing the magic of Disney animation to life. Projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle and down Main Street will immerse guests into their favorite stories, and spark wonder in their hearts. With a nod to every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date and the new song, “It’s Wondrous”, this is sure to be a truly magical experience.

“Magic Happens” Returns!
The beloved “Magic Happens” Parade is also returning to Disneyland for Disney 100. The parade celebrates the awe inspiring moments of magic at the heart of Disney stories, and features characters from Coco, Frozen, Moana, and more! The show originally debuted in 2020, but was paused after two weeks due to the closures in that year.
