Disney World announced today, Tuesday, September 27 that the theme parks would be closed both Wednesday September 28 and Thursday September 29 ahead of impending Hurricane Ian bearing down on the area.

Also, Disney Springs will be closed Wednesday September 28 with the anticipation that the area will remain closed September 29 along with the parks.  The concern is the safety of guests as well as cast members.

“We are monitoring weather conditions so we can make timely decisions for the safety of our Cast and Guests, including when it’s safe for Cast to return to the site to prepare for reopening”.  (Disney Destinations)

Disney is continuing to monitor the situation out the National Weather Service and will adjust accordingly.  

Change and cancellation fees will be waived for check-in dates between Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Orlando International Airport will also close operations as of 10:30am Wednesday, September 28 due to the storm and they are encouraging passengers to contact their airlines for details on flight updates.
