The Countdown is on! We are Halfway to Halloween

As spring blossoms into full bloom, and the warmth of summer begins to wrap around us, there’s a special occasion that sends chills of excitement down the spines of Disney fans worldwide – Halfway to Halloween! Yes, you heard it right.

While October may be the traditional month for ghouls, ghosts, and goblins, Disney fans know that the magic of Halloween can’t be confined to just one month.  What better way to celebrate this halfway mark? Kick off the countdown to the spookiest day of the year at the happiest place on earth – Disney theme parks and Disney Cruise Line!

Halloween in Spring

Can’t wait until October to indulge in the eerie enchantment of Halloween? Disney has a special celebration each spring. It marks the midpoint to the beloved holiday.

From Disneyland Resort in California to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, guests are treated to a hauntingly delightful array of festivities, bringing the spirit of Halloween to life in ways only Disney can.

Halloween Special Events in the Parks

One of the highlights of “Halfway to Halloween” at Disney theme parks is marking the calendar for Halloween related special events in the park.   Dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom and Oogie Boogie Bash at California Adventure in Disneyland Resort are announced.

This year, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom will begin August 9, 2024, and run on select dates through October 31. Tickets will be on sale for select Disney resorts starting May 8, and open for purchase to all guests May 15.

In addition, Oogie Boogie Bash will return to Disneyland Resort August 25 on select nights through October 31 and tickets sales will be announced shortly. We will be sure to get you all the information once it is provided!

Halloween themed special events are not just rides that receive a spooky makeover. Throughout the parks, you’ll find decorations, eerie entertainment, and even special character meet-and-greets with your favorite Disney villains. There’s no shortage of wickedly fun events to partake in during this special celebration.

And let’s not forget about the costumes! Special events in the parks give guests an opportunity to don their creative costumes. Children can dress up any day to embrace the magic of the parks, However, Halloween events give adults the green light to match the atmosphere of the event.

Extra Special Treats

Of course, what would Halloween be without sweet treats? During “Halfway to Halloween”, Disney chefs concoct a devilishly delicious assortment of snacks and desserts to hit home the anticipation of the season.  From pumpkin-spiced churros to Jack Skellington-inspired cupcakes, these treats are sure to satisfy even the most insatiable sweet tooth.  The treats are not the only ghoulish creation from the Disney team at this time.  While every year is different, the “Halfway to Halloween” celebration is often marked by characters, merch and more.

For “Halfway to Halloween”, new ghoulish creations are available at locations such as Gideons Bakeshop in Disney Springs and Kayla’s Cakes on the West Coast.

Halloween on the High Seas

The brand-new Disney Treasure cruise ship, setting sail this December, will have a VERY special “Haunted Mansion” theme parlor. The space is extending the story of one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular rides. In honor of “Halfway to Halloween”, we are getting a sneak peek into more details!

Lastly, Mickey and Friends will return for Halloween fun on the Disney Cruise ships. “Halloween on the High Seas” themed cruises will set out on select sailing between October and September. Join Mickey, Minnie and Donald in brand new costumes for spooky antics including a party, trick or treating, and more special events!
