Dining Plan? What’s That?!
Once upon a time, in a magical land known as Walt Disney World, there were package addon’s called a dining plan. These mysterious dining plans once turned your Disney vacation into an all-inclusive event, with food and beverages included!
Sadly, dining plans were shuttered during the COVID crisis and haven’t returned to date, leaving the phrase “dining plan” feeling more like a mystical relic.
Today, that all changed! This morning, Disney released a NEW promo with dining at its core. Let’s dive into the details a little bit more!
Are Dining Plans back? Not exactly but sort of?
You’re probably saying, Kelli! How can a dining plan be….”sort of” back? I know that’s strange to say but that’s the straight answer. Let me explain!
Over the last few years, Disney has stated that dining plans would return but not much detail has followed. Disney has kept everyone wondering if, when or what would return and now we have a little nibble on what the dining plan future might look like. Could it be only a pattern of gift card offers moving forward or actual plans? Only time will tell.

What exactly is this new offer?
Free Dining?! You heard me right! It’s not the same as free dining (as in years past) but Disney just released the Brand New, Disney Dining Card Giveaway!
This never-before-seen promotion offers guest the opportunity to receive a complementary digital dining gift card for on property summer stays. Offer is good for travel dates between 6/25/2023 – 9/14/2023 and, as with all Disney promotions, there are some strict requirements such as length of stay, length of ticket and resort restrictions.
The new digital dining card will work exactly like a gift card at any of the participating restaurants. Simply present your card at the end of your meal, and the corresponding amount will be deducted from your gifted dollar amount.
Dining cards are ONLY avaliable for packages. A Walt Disney World package is as follows:
- A room at a select Disney Resort hotel
- Theme park ticket(s)

Dining Card Details
The Dining Card offer is based on dates, resort categories and dollar amounts. It can get a little confusing, so I’ve broken it down into more digestible bits.
Requirements
- Advance reservations are required.
- Minimum 4-day theme park ticket required.
- Minimum 4-night length of stay required.
- One Disney Dining Promo Card per room
- Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
