If you’ve ever dreamed of starting your Disney day with laughter, island music, and a side of Mickey waffles, there’s one breakfast that checks every box, the ‘Ohana Best Friends Breakfast at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
From the moment you walk into the Great Ceremonial House, surrounded by the scent of pineapple and the soft strum of Hawaiian melodies, you know this isn’t just about the food, it’s an experience that feels like a warm Hawaiian welcome home.
A Taste of the Islands: Family Style

‘Ohana means “family,” and you’ll feel it the minute that skillet hits the table. Servers bring generous platters filled with scrambled eggs, pork sausage, bacon, island-style potatoes, and the star of the show, Stitch and Mickey shaped waffles. Before that, though, you’ll get the legendary pineapple-coconut breakfast bread and fresh fruit, which is the kind of Disney dish people still talk about years later.
Everything is served family-style, so there’s no waiting in line at a buffet, just relaxed, table-side refills while you enjoy the character fun. And yes, there’s unlimited POG juice (that tropical pineapple–orange–guava mix that tastes like sunshine in a glass).
Meet the “Best Friends”
It’s not every day you get to share breakfast with four Disney icons : Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. They make their way around the restaurant for hugs, photos, and autographs, and every so often during your meal they have a fun parade around the room to traditional Hawaiian music! You will find yourself moving to the music as you clap for their parade!

The best part? The vibe is relaxed and inviting. Characters spend real time with guests, and there’s something about that tropical setting that makes every interaction feel unhurried and extra special. No waiting in lines to meet these characters holds real value all by itself! If you have Stitch fans in your crew, this is the place to meet him, mischievous grin and all.
Cost & Value
Breakfast at ‘Ohana currently costs $53 per adult and $33 per child (ages 3–9). You will also need to account for taxes and tip! It’s certainly a splurge compared to a quick-service breakfast, but for what you get: character time, all-you-care-to-enjoy food, and a leisurely start to your day in one of Disney’s most iconic resorts, it’s a solid value for many families.
If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it counts as one table-service credit, making it a good value for the credit!

Tips for Scoring That Hard-to-Get ‘Ohana Breakfast
Getting a reservation for ‘Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast can feel like trying to catch Stitch mid-prank! It’s tricky, but not impossible! Here’s how to boost your chances:
- Plan ahead like a pro. Reservations drop 60 days before your visit at 6:00 a.m. Eastern, and they go fast. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you get a bit of an edge because you can book for your entire trip (up to 10 days out) right at that 60-day mark. Plan to visit ‘Ohana toward the end of your trip for the best changes. Set that alarm and have your coffee ready!
- Let the alerts do the work. Sites like MouseWatchers can track openings for you and ping your phone or inbox when someone cancels.
- Keep checking back. Disney plans change constantly. Families have to cancel, reschedule, or adjust their itineraries all the time. I’ve had the best luck just popping into the My Disney Experience app throughout the day. You’d be amazed how often a slot magically appears when you least expect it.
- Think outside peak hours. The sweet spot is usually those first or last seatings of the morning. Early risers or late brunchers have a better shot than those aiming for the 8–9 a.m. rush.
- Try your luck day-of. If you’re already hanging out near the Polynesian, visit the restaurant and see if they have any last minute cancellations. You never know when pixie dust will strike and a table will open up.
Bottom line is not to give up! With a little persistence, you can land one of Disney’s most sought-after breakfasts. And trust me, that pineapple-coconut bread is worth every bit of effort.
Pair It with a Magic Kingdom Day

The Polynesian sits right on the Monorail loop, which means getting to Magic Kingdom after breakfast is a breeze, or at least, it can be, if you plan ahead.
From ‘Ohana, it’s a short walk to the monorail platform. The ride takes just a few minutes, but between waiting for a train and any stops along the way, you’ll want to budget at least 40 minutes from table to park entrance.
If you’re aiming for rope drop or early entry, make sure your reservation starts towards the end of the breakfast window or plan for a leisurely start to your park day instead. You can also take a water taxi across Seven Seas Lagoon if you prefer a quieter, more scenic route.
Pro tip: This is one of my favorite ways to ease into a Magic Kingdom day. You get a slow, happy morning filled with character hugs and island flavors before diving into the excitement of the park. Plan time to take pictures around the resort while you are there! It is magnificent!
Why It’s Worth It
There’s a certain Disney magic you can’t script like that moment your child hugs Stitch and can’t stop giggling, or when you sip your POG juice while watching the morning light reflect off the lagoon outside with the castle in the distance.
Breakfast at ‘Ohana feels like a deep breath before the rush of the parks, a joyful, relaxed start surrounded by laughter, character fun, and some seriously good food.
For families who want a meal that’s more than just breakfast, the ‘Ohana Best Friends Breakfast is an experience that truly lives up to its name. You’ll leave full, smiling, and just a monorail ride away from more Disney adventures together.
