Discover Disney Destiny: A Heroes and Villains Cruise Adventure

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Destiny, has officially stepped into the spotlight. She is already living up to her heroes-and-villains theme in the very best way. The ship features immersive dining inspired by The Lion King. Lounges bring Marvel and classic Disney rogues to life. This vessel leans all the way into bold storytelling, theatrical moments, and jaw-dropping design details.

Whether you’re a longtime Disney cruiser or planning your very first sailing, there’s much to explore. Here’s a full look at the spectacular venues and experiences debuting on the Disney Destiny.

Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King — A Dining Experience with Heart (and Harmony)

A buzzworthy addition aboard the Disney Destiny is a new family dining location. It is themed to The Lion King. Imagine stepping into a warm, savanna-inspired Boma. The lighting shifts from sunrise to sunset as you dine. Live performers bring iconic moments and beloved songs from the film to life.

Guests enjoy musical storytelling throughout dinner. It revisits the full emotional arc of the movie. The performances include lively renditions of “Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” There is also a moving interpretation of “He Lives in You.” The menu offers approachable Disney Cruise Line favorites. It also incorporates flavor influences from African cuisines. This combination provides a unique culinary experience unlike anything else at sea.

De Vil’s — A Glamorous, Villain-Chic Piano Lounge

Adults seeking something stylish will love De Vil’s. It has a little attitude and is a bold bar inspired by the fashion icon herself, Cruella de Vil. The aesthetic features glamorous black-and-white styling with bold red accents. It includes a glowing spotted piano. Even a fiber-optic Cruella appears dramatically behind the bar.

Amid sultry tunes from the spotted piano, guests can wind down in style with trendy martinis, chic cocktails, and glamorous wines and bubblies. (Steven Diaz, photographer)

Guests may encounter Cruella during two signature entertainment moments:
• A fashion-forward “runway” where she offers… candid commentary.
• A mischievous musical bit where she recruits guests to “fix” her infamously misunderstood theme song.

The venue also features a designer-forward cocktail menu with imaginative drinks and mocktails fit for the diva of Dalmatians.

Cask & Cannon — A Pirates of the Caribbean Pub Filled with Easter Eggs

Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean will discover a treasure trove inside Cask & Cannon. Both the attractions and the films influence this pirate-themed lounge of the Destiny. The space is designed to look like a patchwork of artifacts. These artifacts are gathered from voyages across the seas. They include mismatched furniture, nautical props, treasure chests, rum bottles, maps, and other “acquired” décor.

Look closely and you’ll spot nods to pirate lore from Disney Parks around the world. These include references to iconic scenes such as Blue Bayou, Talking Skull Bay, Treasure Cove, and more. Specialty rums and “bootlegged” brews round out the menu, making this an excellent evening hideaway.

Staterooms & Suites — A Hero’s Welcome at Sea

The storytelling continues inside the ship’s accommodations. They feature artwork inspired by legendary heroes such as Hercules, Mulan, Merida, and more. Guest rooms maintain a spacious, family-friendly layout. Disney Cruise Line is known for this design. The rooms include the popular split-bath concept and ample storage.

For guests seeking elevated luxury, the Concierge-level rooms and suites deliver bold design themes including:
Fantasia-inspired suites featuring elegant watercolor artistry
Incredibles-themed panoramic rooms offering stunning forward-facing ocean views
Hero Suites honoring Hercules with Greco-Roman details
The IncrediSuites, styled in mid-century modern flair
The Destiny Tower Suite, a spectacular Iron Man-inspired penthouse with sleek metallic accents and high-tech design touches that Tony Stark himself would approve

The Grand Hall — Wakanda-Inspired Wonder and Mischief

The Disney Destiny’s Grand Hall draws inspiration from Marvel Studios’ Black Panther. It incorporates Wakandan-style metalwork and geometric motifs. There is also a breathtaking chandelier designed to resemble Vibranium. At the heart of the space is a statue of King T’Challa. This statue serves as a striking tribute to the Black Panther and protector of his kingdom.

But this space isn’t only a quiet gathering area…
It transforms.

Lighting shifts. Colors swirl. The hall reawakens depending on who arrives. This includes Loki. His appearances turn the Grand Hall into a mischief-filled performance space. No two moments are alike in his presence. Guests may also encounter Dr. Facilier, whose sleight-of-hand illusions and charismatic charm add an unpredictable twist to the atmosphere.

The Sanctum — A Doctor Strange-Inspired Lounge of Mystical Fun

Families can step into the world of the Mystic Arts at The Sanctum. Adults can experience the Marvel’s Doctor Strange theme. Rich reds and golds echo the Cloak of Levitation. Magical artifacts and mystical displays are present. A glowing circular focal point behind the bar evokes the architecture of Strange’s New York Sanctum.

The drink menu plays heavily into the theme. It features interactive cocktails and mocktails that “appear.” They transform or arrive in mysterious vessels. Activities and entertainment — including trivia, crafts, and live performances — take place throughout the day.

“Disney Hercules” — A Fresh Theatrical Take on a Fan-Favorite Film

The Destiny debuts an original Broadway-style production of “Disney Hercules,” a contemporary retelling of the animated classic. The show features stunning costuming and bold, reimagined arrangements of beloved songs. It includes larger-than-life puppetry for mythological creatures. There is also a new emotional ballad originally written for the film but never before used.

This production joins two returning favorites:
Frozen, A Musical Spectacular
Disney Seas the Adventure

Villainous Encounters — Mischief, Magic & Mayhem at Sea

In keeping with the ship’s heroes-and-villains theme, the Disney Destiny introduces several character encounters you won’t find anywhere else. These include:

Loki

• Loki’s Takeover of the Grand Hall

Loki’s “Legend of Loki” transforms the space through magical set pieces and interactive storytelling. Expect Nordic iconography. There are enchanted statues. The God of Mischief himself rewrites history as he sees fit.

• Celebration of a King (Featuring an Unexpected Guest)

A tribute to T’Challa becomes another opportunity for Loki. He, ahem, misinterprets the celebration’s purpose. Then, he declares himself king of the ship.

• A One-of-a-Kind Maleficent Encounter

Inside the Saga lounge, Maleficent shifts the room’s atmosphere completely. It changes from fiery to stormy, then to shadowy. This creates a dramatic setting for brave guests who wish to approach her throne.

• Dr. Facilier’s Parlor of Tricks

Roaming the upper levels or mingling in intimate corners, Dr. Facilier tempts guests with games of chance, illusions, and deceptively charming conversation.

• Cruella’s Signature Activities

At De Vil’s, guests may help remix her theme song during Treblemaking with Cruella. They can also show off their fiercest outfits during Wretched Runway. The compliments are sharp and the humor even sharper.

• A Villainous Kiss Goodnight

At the end of the night, the Grand Hall hosts a dark twist on Disney Cruise Line’s classic farewell moment. The chandelier emits a sinister glow. There’s also a surprise appearance by a villain.

Final Thoughts — The Destiny Sets a New Course for Disney Cruise Line

The Disney Destiny offers all-new dining, entertainment, lounges, and character experiences. It is quickly shaping up to be one of the most immersive ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The ship is also one of the most theatrically themed. Heroes, villains, and storytellers come together in ways that feel bold, fresh, and distinctly Disney.
