There are moments of a Disney vacation that can take you into your very own fairytale! For our family, that moment arrived the day my six-year-old daughter stepped into the legendary Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. What followed was a magical transformation into her favorite fairy, Tinker Bell. It was an experience that brought happy tears to my eyes.
The Boutique
The boutique isn’t just a salon; it’s a special place where dreams are brought to life by the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices. From the moment we walked in, the air shimmered with excitement. My daughter, wide-eyed and full of anticipation, got to explore the treasure trove of dresses, costumes, and sparkling accessories.
She had already made her royal choice, she would be the spunky and sweet Tinker Bell. We decided on the classic bun hairstyle. Soon after, our own sweet Fairy Godmother in Training whisked us away for the next phase of the enchantment.
The Experience
The heart of the experience lies in the little details, and the location, inside Cinderella’s Castle makes it all the more spectacular. We were escorted to our special salon chair, and this is where the magic truly hit me. Our Fairy Godmother in Training had a gentle, attentive manner with my daughter, immediately making her feel like the star of the show.
The transformation was a slow, wonderful process. Our Fairy Godmother in Training began working on her hair, creating the perfect elegant bun, then added the shimmering makeup, a face gem, and a special manicure. Throughout the whole process, my daughter’s anticipation built, as her back was to the grand mirror.
As the final, crucial step, a generous sprinkle of magical pixie dust was applied, the Apprentice stepped back and, with a grand, heartwarming gesture, slowly turned the chair around toward the mirror. She didn’t just stop there. With a booming announcement that caught the attention of the entire salon, she declared, “Everyone, please welcome Princess Tinker Bell!”
The look on my daughter’s face when she finally saw her full, sparkling transformation in the mirror was priceless. It beamed with pure joy. The Apprentices at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are masters of their craft, and the way ours celebrated my daughter, encouraging her spirit and confirming her choice to be Tinker Bell, was nothing short of extraordinary. The whole “bibbidi bobbidi boo” reveal gave this mom a little misty-eyed moment, a memory I will treasure forever.
Capturing the Magic during the Experience
You won’t have to worry about missing a moment! During your transformation, a dedicated Disney PhotoPass Photographer is often walking around the salon, capturing candid shots of the entire experience, from the makeup and hair process to the special reveal.
After the session, the photgrapher will give you a PhotoPass card with your unique ID number on it. You can link this to your My Disney Experience account to view all the high-quality photos taken inside the boutique.
The photos are handled like all other Disney PhotoPass pictures:
- If you did not purchase Memory Maker, you will have the option to purchase individual downloads or a package once you view the pictures online.
- If you have already purchased Memory Maker for your trip, the photos will be included in your download package.
The Royal Portrait Studio at Sir Mickey’s
Immediately after the makeover, we moved to the photo session across from the castle at Sir Mickey’s. The vibe? Think old school Olan Mills photography studio with a touch of pixie dust! Two professional PhotoPass photographers were on hand to capture the final reveal. They created the perfect props and poses that complimented her little mischievous smile that really said “I am Tinker Bell.” Because we had Memory Maker, all the images were included with no separate purchase needed for the gallery of our daughter’s “princess moment.”
The Quest for a Reservation
Simply put, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservations, like Ohana, are one of the hardest bookings to secure at Walt Disney World. This is an incredibly popular experience, and appointments disappear almost instantaneously. I mean, who wouldn’t want to go inside Cinderella’s Castle and have a princess or prince makeover?!
Reservations drop 60 days before your visit and they go fast. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you get a bit of an edge because you can book for your entire trip (up to 10 days out) right at that 60-day mark.
Our Best Tips: Unlike many dining reservations which open at 6:00 AM EST, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservations appear online at 12:00 AM EST (midnight) on the 60-day mark. Be logged into your My Disney Experience account on a computer, have your dates ready, and be prepared to book the moment the window opens. If you don’t succeed right away, keep checking daily, as cancellations do happen, especially in the days leading up to your trip.

Yes, THE Fairy Godmother now appears inside the boutique, greeting guests and sprinkling a bit of extra pixie dust on this already unforgettable experience.
This addition creates such a special character moment for families. The Fairy Godmother takes a few minutes with each new princess or knight, offering blessings of courage, kindness and, of course, a wave of her wand. It ties the entire experience together beautifully, turning what was already magical into something completely unforgettable.
Final Thoughts from our Visit
From the first moment of choosing the dress to the final twirl in front of Cinderella’s Castle, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience at Magic Kingdom truly is a core memory in the making. Seeing my little six-year-old Tinker Bell float through the park, waving her wand and radiating happiness, made every minute of planning and every penny spent absolutely worth it. It’s a fairy tale delivered, and for a day, my daughter got to live her most enchanting dream.
