Who says it has to always about the kids?
Embarking on a Disney Cruise Line adventure is always a magical experience, filled with enchanting moments and unforgettable memories. Beyond the beloved characters, thrilling attractions (I’m talking about you AquaDuck,) and luxurious accommodations, Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of adult-exclusive experiences that add an extra touch of sophistication to your voyage.
One such experience is the Adult Only Beer Tasting. This experience is an opportunity for adults to explore the world of craft beers, sans children, all while sailing the high seas.
Side Note: Before I dive in, you might be saying to yourself, “SANS CHILDREN! How in the world can that be accomplished?” Well, it just so happens that Disney Cruise Line is known for their magnificent kids’ clubs.

Kids clubs are completely complementary across all Disney ships with the exception of the It’s a Small World Nursery, for the under 3 crowd.
Getting back to the Barley… classes are offered across all Disney Cruise Line ships however the one I recently experienced is on the Disney Dream and meets in the beautiful Pub 687.
Pub 687 is located in the District area of the Disney Dream, on Deck 4 Aft. This area is family friendly until 8 PM, offering daily trivia, cooking classes and live music, however, after 8, The District becomes adult only.
The District offers several different venues each with their own flair. Options include Pub 687 (beer,) Pink (champagne,) Skyline Bar (hand-crafted cocktails,) Evolution (dance club) and the District Lounge (full service bar.)
There is something for every big kid, ahem…adult, in this area!
Back to the brews…as you enter Pub 687, you’re greeted by knowledgeable and friendly Disney Cruise Line Castmembers that will guide you through the intricacies of the experience. For a full 60 minutes, the class features a curated selection of craft beers from around the world, each with a unique flavor profile and story.
Tasting, Learning and Price
The class kicks off with an introduction to the brewing process, beer styles, and the art of pairing beer with different foods. As you delve into the tasting, you’ll discover a diverse range of brews, from light and refreshing lagers to robust and complex ales. The castmembers provide fascinating insights into the history and characteristics of each beer, making the experience not only enjoyable but also educational.
As the Beer Tasting Class concludes, you leave with a newfound appreciation for the world of craft beers and a collection of delightful memories. The combination of Disney magic, expert guidance, and a carefully curated selection of beverages make this experience a must-try for any adult seeking a unique and enjoyable activity during their Disney cruise. The camaraderie amongst fellow participants makes it even better! This is one experience that I definitely recommend splurging on!
When I say splurge, I’m not talking an exorbitant amount of money either. Currently this beer tasting runs $45.00 per person (21 and over.) Price is subject to change without notice, so what is now $45 could easily raise a few dollars as popularity grows.
