A New Look for Magic Kingdom

Disney is adding fresh updates to Magic Kingdom attractions and icons:

  • Carousel of Progress will welcome a brand-new Walt Disney audio-animatronic in the near future. While no official date has been announced, it’s sure to be a special addition for longtime fans.
  • TRON Lightcycle Run currently has a limited-time overlay. It is called Tron: Ares and features striking red and orange light streams. The soundtrack includes Nine Inch Nails. This special experience ties into the Tron Ares movie debuting in theaters on October 10.
  • Cinderella Castle is set for another makeover. Concept art shows a return to its classic color palette. This includes greys, creams, blues, and touches of gold.

Hollywood Studios Updates: Muppets Take the Stage

The beloved Rockin’ Roller Coaster is getting a makeover starring the Muppets!

  • The new theme will feature Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem in a psychedelic concert adventure.
  • Expect a wild “Muppets twist” while the signature guitar remains—refreshed with Muppet flair.

Big Thunder Mountain: New Adventures Coming in 2026

By late 2026, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen with brand-new interior scenes and concept art shows the wonderous scenes of inside Big Thunder. The focus on theming suggests the mountain and wilderness are “fighting back” against the Gold Rush with dramatic storytelling.


Animal Kingdom Welcomes Zootopia

On November 7, a brand-new 4D show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, will debut inside the Tree of Life Theater.

  • Celebrate “Zoogether Day” with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and other Zootopia favorites.
  • Guests will also find a Zootopia character meet-and-greet on Discovery Island through the fall season.

Meanwhile, Animal Kingdom is preparing for major changes:

  • Dinoland USA will officially close on February 2, 2026. This closure makes way for the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion. The expansion is expected in 2027.
  • Dinosaur and Restaurantosaurus will close February 1. So, fans should experience them while they can.
  • Harambe Market will temporarily close later this year to refresh its menu with family-friendly favorites.
  • Kali River Rapids will close October 6, 2025, for a long refurbishment, reopening December 2025.

But, characters like Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale will continue to greet guests during the transition.

  • Blizzard Beach is temporarily closed with no reopening date, but guests can still enjoy Typhoon Lagoon.
  • Disney Cruise Line celebrated World Gratitude Day. They offered up to 40% off select sailings from Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, and Galveston. (Offer valid only through September 25.)
  • Disney World Resort officially opens the holiday season on November 14. Decor and some of the beloved holiday menu items will be available as early as November 2, 2025.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Updates

Lastly, Disney announced that new features are coming to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, including magical appearances from the Fairy Godmother. Unfortunately, all the details have yet to be released. However, families can expect even more enchantment in both Florida and California locations.
