What’s Open, What’s Closed and What’s Gone Forever?
Don’t be caught off guard in 2025! After all, nothing puts a damper on a Walt Disney World trip quite like finding out your favorite ride is temporarily closed for maintenance.
That said, Disney Imagineers work tirelessly designing new resort rooms and park attractions, which sometimes means favorites may close for a day, weeks, or even months. While we know this can be frustrating, Disney’s ongoing maintenance, refurbishments, and safety updates help keep the parks the most Magical Place on Earth.
Fortunately, the best refurbishment news for 2025 is that Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom will experience minimal guest impact. In fact, this year, seasonal maintenance is the main focus, with no new closures beyond those already announced. Additionally, guests can look forward to exciting new attractions and shows debuting across the parks.
Meanwhile, resorts and transportation will see a few unexpected closures, coupled once again with the standard seasonal maintenance.

2025 Refurbishment Schedule, Closures and Newly Opened Attractions
Animal Kingdom
- Kali River Rapids – Temporarily Unavailable
EPCOT
- No Closures or Refurbishments at this time
Magic Kingdom
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos – Temporarily Unavailable
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Temporarily Unavailable
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – Temporarily Unavailable
Hollywood Studios
- No closure or refurbishments at this time
Waterparks, Transportation and More
- Typhoon Lagoon Water Park- Now Closed
- Blizzard Beach Water Park – Now Opened
- Transportation (Buses, Skyline, Monorail and Water Taxis, Ferries and Riverboats):
- Disney will temporarily shut down the Skyliner for refurbishment from January 25 through January 31, 2026. Complimentary bus service will be provided. (Resorts impacted Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Beach Club and Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Boardwalk and Boardwalk Villas, Disney’s Caribbean Beach, Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Riviera.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
- From January 2026 through late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool will remain open for guests to enjoy. Guests are also welcome to use the pools at the other Disney’s All-Star Resorts, including Calypso Pool, Piano Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge- Jambo House
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village
- From October 2025 through May 2026, guest rooms at Kidani Village will undergo refurbishment. Refurbishment at Jambo House will follow from May 2026 through January 2027. During these times, guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All resort amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- From January 25 through January 31, 2026, Disney will temporarily shut down the Skyliner for scheduled refurbishment. During this time, complimentary bus service will be provided to ensure guests can continue traveling conveniently between resorts and parks.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Resort Refurbishments (September 2024 – July 2026): Refurbishments will take place in select areas of the resort, including Bay Lake Tower. Guests may see or hear construction during their stay, and extra travel time is recommended.
- Bay Lake Tower Pool & Amenity Closures (January 26 – Early May 2026): During this time, the Bay Cove Pool, Cove Bar, water play area, and whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower will be temporarily closed for maintenance.

- Whirlpool Spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Villas and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is undergoing routine exterior maintenance through late 2026. As part of this work, the porte cochere will be closed through October 2025. Guests may notice construction activity or temporary alternate travel paths, and some views around the resort may be affected.
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort is undergoing routine exterior maintenance through 2027. During this period, the porte cochere will remain closed through September 2025. Guests may notice temporary impacts on views in certain areas of the resort, and alternate pathways may be in place at times to accommodate maintenance work.
- From January 25 through January 31, 2026, Disney will temporarily shut down the Skyliner for scheduled refurbishment. During this time, complimentary bus service will be provided to ensure guests can continue traveling conveniently between resorts and parks.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Boardwalk Villas
- From January 11, 2027, through April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may notice and hear work taking place during daytime hours. The Villas Pool and Inn Pool will remain open for guests to enjoy during this time.
- From January 25 through January 31, 2026, Disney will temporarily shut down the Skyliner for scheduled refurbishment. During this time, complimentary bus service will be provided to ensure guests can continue traveling conveniently between resorts and parks.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- From January 25 through January 31, 2026, Disney will temporarily shut down the Skyliner for scheduled refurbishment. During this time, complimentary bus service will be provided to ensure guests can continue traveling conveniently between resorts and parks.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
- Starting in early May 2025, guests may notice and hear construction near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. While both the Meadow and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pools will remain open, the nearby tennis courts, volleyball court, and Meadow Playground will be temporarily closed.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge—and the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins—are currently undergoing an extensive exterior refurbishment, with work expected to continue through late 2026. During this time, some areas of the resort may have altered or obstructed views, and Guests could notice occasional construction noise during daytime hours. The good news: most amenities will remain open throughout the project.
- Additionally, from January 12 to early April 2026, the resort’s boat dock will be closed for routine maintenance. Boat transportation will be temporarily unavailable from January 12–30, with alternate travel options provided during that period.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Spa and Villas
- As Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa continues its multi-year enhancement project, select areas of the resort will remain under refurbishment through mid-2026. Guests may notice construction activity during daytime hours, but Disney is working to keep disruptions to a minimum. The majority of pools, dining locations, and resort amenities will remain open throughout the process.
- However, due to the ongoing renovations, the resort’s iconic gingerbread display will not be available for the 2025 holiday season.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
- From September 29 through late November 2025, the Miller’s Road leisure pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may notice or hear work in the area during this time. The Sandcastle feature pool, as well as the Old Turtle Pond and South Point leisure pools, will remain open for guests to enjoy.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows
- From May 2025 through 2026, Disney will refurbish parts of the Polynesian Village Resort and Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, including the front entrance and bus area. Guests should expect to see and hear construction, but all dining, pools, and amenities will remain open. Please allow extra travel time.
Disney’s Pop Century
- From late March 2025 through mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will be refurbished. Guests may notice construction activity and hear work taking place during daytime hours. All resort amenities will remain fully available throughout the refurbishment.
- From January 25 through January 31, 2026, the Disney Skyliner will be closed for scheduled refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be provided so guests can continue to travel conveniently between resorts and parks.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarters
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Beginning in early May 2025 and continuing through August 2027, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will roll out a phased refurbishment of its Guest rooms. Different sections of the resort will be updated at various times, so Guests may occasionally see or hear construction activity during their stay. Disney aims to keep disruptions minimal while these enhancements are underway.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
- From January 25 through January 31, 2026, Disney will temporarily shut down the Skyliner for scheduled refurbishment. During this time, complimentary bus service will be provided to ensure guests can continue traveling conveniently between resorts and parks.
- The Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from January 24–30, 2027. During this time, Guests can take advantage of complimentary bus transportation as an alternative.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
- From October 13 through early December 2025, the Paddock Pool, its aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill will be closed for routine maintenance.
Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
- At this time, there are no refurbishment projects currently underway. We’ll share updates as soon as new information becomes available.
