It’s time to celebrate the holidays at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California!!  The original Disney Park and Disney’s California Adventure Park along with all the resorts on property begin bringing the holidays to life on November 11.

This year Disneyland’s Festival of The Holidays has new and returning favorites that will focus on cultural festivities through live entertainment and music as well as great eats and treats that showcase:

  • Christmas

  • Hanukkah
  • Diwali
  • Kwanzaa

The Return of The Sips and Savory Pass to Festival of The Holidays

2022 will see the return of The Sips and Savory Pass at Festival Foods Marketplace in Disney’s California Adventure Park.  This pass is valid through January 8, 2023, and guests who purchase can redeem it for 8 select food or beverage (non-alcoholic) items at a total of 9 multicultural food kiosks.

Here’s a quick peak at SOME of the holiday bites you will find at Disneyland for 2022:

Disney’s California Adventure Park

  • Peppermint Churro- Grizzly Peaks Churro
  • Peppermint Donuts- Lamplight Lounge.  Hot cocoa dusted donuts with toasted marshmallow crème and a chocolate peppermint dipping sauce
  • Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese- Festive Foods Marketplace Merry Mashups.  Esquites style mac & cheese with carnitas, salsa macha, spice puffed rice, freeze dried corn and cilantro

This year a new celebration will take place at the Coffee House inside the Disneyland Hotel to highlight the warmth and beauty of Diwali.  Not only will you be able to enjoy a specialty Chai Archisha Tea starting October 17, 2022, but you sit back and watch Blue 13 Dance Company outside of the Coffee House while you sip. 

Performances will be held at 4pm and 5pm from the 17th to October 24 when they will move to Disney’s California Adventure for the rest of the season.

Lastly, you can purchase a Buzz and Woody holiday themed popcorn bucket at popcorn carts around the parks while the supplies last!

Musical Performances Around Disneyland for the Holidays

This year, Tina and Sounds of Celebration will perform exciting sounds of Navidad to Disney’s California Adventure with live holiday music, salsa, merengue, cumbia, and Latin rock. 

Some other performers this year at DCA include:

Holiday Parades and Magical Extras

Don’t miss “World of Color-Seasons of Light” at DCA.  This nighttime water show will feature favorite holiday music as a backdrop for an exciting fountain spectacular.

In addition, The Disneyland Resort Tour will return for 2022.  This 2.5hr guided tour will take guest through the Disneyland Park and feature stories of the holiday festivities at Disneyland as well as tales of Walt Disney himself. 

The tour ends on Main Street, USA and includes a reserved viewing area for “A Christmas Fantasy” parade.  It also includes holidays treats and a commemorative pin.  Don’t miss your opportunity to get a firsthand look at Disneyland Park at Christmas!

There are NO fireworks like Disneyland Fireworks

Disneyland Park will end the holiday celebrations nightly with “Believe..In Holiday Magic” fireworks.  Fireworks at Sleeping Beauty Castle will be the topper on your holiday cake.

Special Holiday Features of Magicband+ for the Holidays

According to Disney, “Wear Magicband+ for extra magic and watch it come alive with vibrations and colorful holiday lights during the nighttime spectaculars of World of Color-Season of Lights and Believe…in Holiday Magic fireworks”.

Christmas with the Disney Characters and St. Nick

This holiday season, you will find Mickey and his friends decked out in traditional red and green Christmas attire to greet and hug guests throughout the Disneyland property including in the resorts.

That’s not ALL..

Santa Claus himself will be out and about in both parks, including Critter Country at Disneyland Park, and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in DCA.  You will also be able to meet the jolly ole elf at select times at the hotels

“Mickey’s Happy Holidays” presents a cheerful seasonal celebration with Mickey Mouse and friends as they travel through the heart of Disney California Adventure Park during Festival of Holidays. Guests are encouraged to join in the fun with Disney and Pixar characters, dancing and marching along to the high-energy music and merry rhythms of the Holiday Toy Drummers, several times daily.
