Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast at Universal Orlando

Before you even sit down to eat, the atmosphere inside Circus McGurkus sets the tone. With colorful circus theming, quirky Seuss-inspired décor, and the sound of holiday music filling the air, you truly feel like you’ve stepped into Whoville and that’s before the characters even arrive.

What’s the real highlight? The Grinch himself. You are given a special card by your server and then escorted to a short line to meet the Grinch. The Grinch has a special area of the restaurant that he greets guests. He doesn’t circulate around the restaurant like the rest of the Whos do.

When he greeted our family, it was the perfect mix of snark, sarcasm, and mischief. It was exactly what you hope for in a Grinch encounter. He roasted my husband in the most hysterical way, and we were laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes. It was the kind of interaction we’ll be talking about for years.

The Grinch isn’t the only character making the rounds. A whole cast of cheerful, high-energy Whos visit each table throughout the breakfast. They chatted, posed for photos, and stayed completely in character the entire time. Their over-the-top enthusiasm kept our kids engaged in their fun conversations! They were very excited to sign our book!

Each guest selects one entrée and every dish is plated beautifully, with options ranging from savory to indulgently sweet.

• Grinch’s Chilaquiles Verdes (GS)-Corn tortilla chips, hand-pulled chicken, fried eggs, avocado, pickled onions, salsa verde, Cotija cheese, and cilantro crema.
• Martha May Whovier Vegan Rancheros Tostadas (GS, VG)-Refried black beans, vegan chorizo, avocado, vegan feta, pickled onions, pico de gallo, chipotle “aioli,” and arugula & baby tomato salad.
• Mayor Augustus’ Everything Bagel-Everything bagel with whipped dill schmear, pastrami-smoked salmon, capers, cucumbers, shaved red onion, arugula & tomato salad, and a soft-boiled egg.

• The Grinch’s Pancake Stack-Whipped topping, strawberries, red crystal sugar, served with bacon & scrambled eggs.
• Waffle Wonderland-Blueberries, strawberries, whipped topping, green sugar crystals, bacon & eggs.
• Whoville Morning Munch (GS)-Scrambled eggs, bacon, and crinkle fries.

Our Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast was everything we love about holiday theme park experiences. It was wildly funny, wonderfully sweet, and filled with meaningful moments we’ll treasure.
