The long-awaited day is finally here! Epic Universe is officially open to the public! We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome this brand-new Universal Orlando theme park to the vacation scene!
For months, the buzz has been building, and today, theme park fans, Universal movie lovers, and friends and families can finally walk through the gates of this groundbreaking destination.
Epic Universe Previews
Leading up to today’s grand opening, Universal has done an impressive job offering team member previews, resort guest previews, and most recently, general public preview tickets for single-day admission.

These soft openings allowed Universal to test ride systems. They worked through some downtime hiccups and were making much-needed adjustments. This is all in the name of delivering a top-tier guest experience.
Battle at the Ministry News
One of the most talked-about attractions is Battle at the Ministry in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. This ride initially used a virtual queue system. That presented a few challenges for eager riders.

Due to high demand and guest feedback, the attraction has recently converted to a standby queue. However, wait times often exceeding two hours.
If you’re hoping to experience this mind-blowing ride, we recommend rope dropping the park. More importantly, take full advantage of Early Park Admission offered exclusively to Universal Orlando hotel guests.
The 3rd addition of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando has brought some powerful spells!
Express Pass at Epic Universe
Yes—Express Passes are available for Epic Universe, but Battle at the Ministry is not currently included. So, strategy and planning are key.

It’s also important to note that Epic Universe is not included with the Unlimited Express Pass perk available to guests staying at Universal’s Signature Resorts like Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific, Portofino Bay, or even the new Helios Grand. That may change in the future.

The Biggest Surprise of the Park
While the Wizarding World has dominated the headlines, the sleeper hit of the park is quickly proving to be the How to Train Your Dragon- Isle of Berk. Families and fans alike are raving about its immersive storytelling and unexpected thrills.

Don’t miss Hiccup’s Winged Gliders. Do you know that scene in the original movie- Hiccup builds Toothless is protistic tail? He then soars with Toothless through the landscape of Berk. YES! You’ll feel just like that looked.
The Brightest Stars of the Park at Epic Universe
Two standout attractions—Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment in Dark Universe and Battle at the Ministry—are turning heads with their cutting-edge ride technology. These rides are some of the most advanced Universal has ever produced.
While both have experienced a few technical difficulties and temporary closures, Universal has handled it well, often issuing return time passes to guests affected by downtime.

If you’re looking to maximize your day, don’t forget about Single Rider Lines. This option is available on select attractions in Dark Universe and the other lands as well as the stunning new Stardust Racers. This dueling comet-themed roller coaster in Celestial Park (the park hub) is already drawing comparisons to—and even surpassing—VelociCoaster in terms of thrill and innovation.
