Late Summer to Early October 2025
Late August through early October is one of the quietest times of the year. With schools back in session, crowd levels drop significantly. Yes, it’s still hot and humid. Temperatures are often in the 90s with high humidity. However, lower wait times and value-season pricing make it worth considering.
Bonus: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off in Magic Kingdom mid-August, adding festive fun without the full holiday crowds. Additionally, the Epcot Food & Wine Festival starts late August to the delight of foodies and fans.

Mid-October to December 2025
As we approach fall and the holiday season, crowds begin to climb again. October sees cooler weather (highs in the 80s) and a steady stream of guests arriving for Halloween festivities. In November and December, the parks shine with holiday decor. There are themed menu items and ticketed events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It’s magical—but also one of the busiest seasons of the year. Advanced dining reservations should be taken seriously!
Work continues on the future Piston Peak National Park, where the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island once were. Over in Animal Kingdom, construction walls still surround parts of the former DinoLand U.S.A. to make way for the Tropical Americas.
Over at Epcot, the International Festival of the Holidays begins late November through December 31. Santa Clause makes an appearance, the holiday kitchens and cookie stroll are in full swing. Don’t forget to visit Disney Springs for the Christmas Tree Stroll or hop to one of your favorite resorts to admire their holiday decor. January 2027
With the new year, the best time to visit Disney World might surprise you! Cooler temperatures return but so do crowds for Marathon Weekend in early January. If you can travel after the first week, visiting now offers lower crowds. The weather is mild with highs in the 60s–70s.
Many guests take advantage of this “reset period,” when the parks are calmer and post-holiday promotions kick in. The Epcot Festival of the Arts begins celebrating the color and wonder of all the arts.
Lastly, January starts the After-Hours events inside 3 of the 4 theme parks. These special ticketed events let guests enjoy the parks after closing. Visitors experience lower wait times and special snacks for a few hours.

May to Early June 2027
Looking for a sweet spot? This is it. The weeks between the end of spring break and the start of summer vacation usually mean lower crowds.
The weather is more comfortable and good availability for dining and resorts. Expect high 80s and fewer lines—just before the next summer rush begins.
Mid-June to July 2027
Summer returns with full force—school’s out, and families are back in the parks. Crowds rise, and so do the temperatures, often exceeding 90°F with high humidity.
Afternoon rain is common but so are extended park hours and nighttime shows. This stretch is exciting but crowded, so come prepared. Summer is also a great time to enjoy Special ticketed events like H2O Glow After Hours at Typhoon Lagoon.
