The Top 5 Reasons to Stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

If you’re planning a magical getaway to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, you’ll find there are a lot of accommodation options to choose from. I recently stayed at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and found it to be a standout choice.  Here are the top five reasons why you should consider staying at this beautiful hotel.

Be forwarned, what you won’t find at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is the heavy Disney theming. The resort is stunning, but there is not a strong sense of being in the Disney bubble. Aside from a few nods to beloved Disney characters, this resort transports you elsewhere. If you are someone that loves that big Disney theming, this resort may not be for you.

Deluxe Quality with a Moderate Price Tag

Coronado Springs Resort is a moderate level Disney resort with a theme inspired by the blend of Spanish, Mexican, and American Indian cultures. It creates an ambiance that is truly unique.  The addition of Gran Destino Tower in 2019 added a luxurious feeling with nods to the art of Salvador Dali who worked with Walt Disney on animation projects.

When you enter, you are greeted with rich colors, textures, and grandeur.  The marble and glass 2-story lobby with floor to ceiling windows make this resort feel like a true escape.  Don’t let it fool you though.  Coronado Springs is a moderate level resort despite the deluxe level feel.

Variety of Accommodation Options

The resort offers a range of accommodation options to suit different preferences and budgets.  Guests can choose to stay in one of the garden style standard room buildings or a tower room with amazing views.

Coronado Springs offers guests the option of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom suites or club level accommodation as well.  At club level, guests receive concierge service including food and beverages in the club lounge throughout the day.

Convenient Location

One of the most significant advantages of staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is its prime location. Situated in the EPCOT area of Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll have quick and easy access to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

We were even able to watch the EPCOT fireworks from the outdoor terrace at Dahlia Lounge in Gran Destino Tower.  The resort provides complimentary transportation to and from all four parks starting 1 hour prior to the parks’ opening times with plenty of buses available for Early Theme Park Entry.

Unique Dining Experiences

Coronado Springs Resort offers both quick service and table service dining options for whatever you’re in the mood to eat.  You’ll find Mexican cuisine at Maya Grill, American fair at Rix Sports Bar and Grill, and grab-n-go options from El Mercado Coronado.

Perhaps you prefer a relaxing meal by the lake at Three Bridges Bar & Grill.  You can also enjoy the view from the top of Gran Destino Tower while enjoying Spanish Tapas at Toledo- Tapas, Steak and Seafood.

Moreover, Coronado has many lovely places to sit and relax while enjoying a drink, whether that’s finely crafted Spanish Coffee or an alcoholic drink.  The Barcelona Lounge, just below the main lobby, offers both transitioning from specialty coffee to cocktails and small plates at midday.

Resort Amenities and Recreation

The resort’s amenities and recreational activities are a big draw for guests. You can relax at the beautifully themed Lost City of Cibola Pool, which features a Mayan pyramid, waterslide, and a hot tub as a highlight during your “resort day” or during a long morning in the theme parks.

In addition, the resort is home to over 220,000 square feet of convention and meeting space, making it an excellent choice for business travelers attending conferences or events.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort offers a unique experience that sets it apart from other accommodations at Walt Disney World. Whether you’re visiting for a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a business event, this resort offers something special for everyone.
