Best Family Rides at Universal Studios Florida

1. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

One of the best kid-friendly rides at Universal Studios Florida, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is a hilarious, motion-simulator adventure. It features Gru, the girls and his mischievous Minions. While there’s some movement, it’s gentle enough for most kids. There’s even a stationary seating option for guests prone to motion sickness.

While visiting Minions Land, Villain Con: Minion Blast is also a great choice for guests of all ages. This gaming style adventure has riders competing for a spot among the “Vicious 6”. While this ride does have a 48” height requirement, riders use a moving walkway while competing to get the most points. 

2. E.T. Adventure

A nostalgic classic, E.T. Adventure is a slow-moving dark ride that takes you on a journey to help E.T. save his home planet. With its whimsical storytelling and gentle motion, it’s a must-do for guests wanting a relaxing ride.

3. DreamWorks Land

The entirety of DreamWorks Land is built for young ones!  It’s an exciting new area designed especially for younger guests. Here, meet beloved characters and explore worlds from Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda to life.

4. Hogwarts Express

Connecting Universal Studios Florida to Islands of Adventure, the Hogwarts Express is a family-friendly attraction that immerses guests in the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

1.  Suess Landing

Seuss Landing is a whimsical, storybook-inspired land designed especially for young guests and families.  The land brings the colorful and imaginative world of Dr. Seuss to life. With zany architecture, beloved characters, gentle rides, and interactive play areas, this land feels like stepping straight into the pages of Dr. Seuss’s classic books.

  • Caro-Seuss-el: A one-of-a-kind carousel featuring Dr. Seuss’s quirky, colorful creatures as rideable characters. Some even have interactive elements, making for a playful, hands-on experience.
  • One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish: A flying fish ride where guests control their own fish, going up and down while trying to follow the rhyming instructions to avoid (or get splashed by) water jets.
  • The High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train Ride: A gentle, elevated train ride that offers fantastic views of Seuss Landing while telling rhyming stories based on The Sneetches and Dr. Seuss’s ABC.

2. Pteranodon Flyers

For a mild, yet exciting adventure, Pteranodon Flyers offers an aerial glide over Jurassic Park. Designed for children between 36 and 56 inches tall (with an accompanying adult), it’s a fun and gentle ride that provides beautiful views of the park.

3. Flight of the Hippogriff

For families ready to introduce kids to roller coasters, Flight of the Hippogriff is an excellent starter coaster. It’s smooth, short, and filled with Harry Potter magic, making it a great pick for families with young wizards and witches.

4. Toon Lagoon

Although the young ones may not recognize the nostalgic characters of Toon Lagoon, this area is more than family friendly!  With bright colors, splash areas and 2 family friendly attraction, the whole family is sure to have fun. 

Next, there are plenty of fun photo ops, characters out and about and more!  Not to mention, this land is home to a soaking good time. Both rides are water attractions that will leave you drenched.
